Pinning starter ring gear

Also, clutch basket assembly...anyone seen a failure with the initials SB, PH or DB on it? That was myself and the two others in engine build at the time. We all took the peening of those rivets seriously....if we weren't happy with one, we'd have it ground off in the fabrication shop, and do it again. Prior to that, quite often sub assemblies were left to the apprentice to do.
My 2017 seems to have AM initials (AH maybe?) - and yes one of the rivets was ground off and remade. So far working ok.

AM or AH....hmm will have to have a think, at who that would have been tbh. We had a few apprentices, but we oversaw what they were doing when we were in there....didnt leave them to it.

The original thread with regards pinning the starter, the image posted is a great example of poor basket riveting. Those should have never gone into an engine, at least two need grinding off and redoing.
