When I was in Berlin in the early 60's in the Army, I remember seeing those Messerschmidts, the little cars with the door opening to the front, maybe even 3 wheel, I just don't remember other than seeing them. Messerscmitts opened as per the aeroplanes they grew from, Heinkel built the three wheeled 'bubble' cars with the opening front. Looking at google maps, it looks like the barracks I lived in on Finkensteinalle are still there including the '32 olympic swimming pool. Looks like some sort of museum now.

Messerschmidrs has a hinge on the side of the top glass,/perspex cockpit that lifts upwards towards the side.
