Put it all together and no spark at the plugs. I am going back through to check that all connections are as they are supposed to be. My question is how should the wires on the little blue can (capistor) be handled? I disconnected two and left one connected? Is this correct? If so, does it matter which wire is connected? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I thing you need to eliminate it. They can cause problems, I beleive. The issue being that very little power is now required to produce spark with EI units.
Get one of those Pedtronic regulator/rectifier boxes and get rid of the zener and stock rectifier while your at it. A duel output 5 ohm coil should also be on your shopping list. Throw in a 180watt stator a jel battery and you wil be riding all night long.

If you remove the Brown/Blue wires from the 2MC capacitor, then you must connect all Brown/Blue wires together with a jumper, otherwise no power will get to the ignition switch, because the 2MC acts as a junction for the Brown/Blue wires.

Unless you think the 2MC is faulty, then there's no real reason to disconnect the Brown/Blue wires. However, if you do want to remove the 2MC from the electrical system, then just disconnect the Red ground wire.
