Is it possible to locate the Pazon ignition module so it cannot be seen when bike is all back together (tank on, etc)? Where are some good spots for the module?

Can the ballast resistor be completely removed? Pazon say in the instructions that the ballast resistor is no longer required but they go to great lengths to say which wire should be disconnected from the ballast resistor thereby implying that the other wire should stay connected.

Also, Pazon says in the instructions that the condensers are no longer required and can be removed. I assume by their term condensers Pazon is referring to what the Parts Book calls Capacitor part number 54420128. Is this correct?

Thanks for any help on this.

Yes, that is all correct. No condensors or ballast resistor required. You can add them to your "useless parts" box. "Condensor" and "capacitor" are just two different names for the same thing. If you're running 6 volt coils you'll wire them in series as shown in the Pazon instruction booklet.

I just zip tied the black box to the frame under the tank. You could use a little foam rubber or something for vibration isolation, but I didn't bother.

You'll like the Pazon. I fired up my 850 this week after sitting all winter. We had a hard winter and it's been four months since the bike was last ridden. It started first kick. :D

The Pazon instructions say this:

5. Disconnect the two wires (usually black-white & black-yellow) and
remove the contact-breaker plate. At the other end, these two wires must
be disconnected from the ignition coils & condensers......

.......7. Disconnect the remaining wires from the ignition coils. These come from the ignition switch supply.."

So the "remaining wires" should be the ones that connect to the opposite end of the ballast resistor from the white/blue?

On the Norton Commando, remove the
white-blue wire from the ballast resistor between the two ignition coils; the
ballast resistor is no longer required.

Therefore if the Pazon instructions have been followed correctly, the ballast resistor should now have been fully disconnected from the electrical system -even though the instructions don't actually tell you to disconnect the 'other' wire, the ballast resistor can then be removed along with the rubber covered 54420128 2CP condensor/capacitor pack. The white/blue (WU) wire then connects directly to the white Pazon box wire for standard positive earth/ground polarity.

The space under the coil bracket originally occupied by the ballast and 2CP then makes an ideal location to mount the Pazon box, but as Debby says, it could be hidden up under the tank?
