Paint Details and steering lock removal

Hello to all, can someone tell me the correct grey colour for the triple clamps. Also the width of the gold stripis around a Mk3 Interstate tank and the distance between the two stripes. from pictures it seems this grey is also used on the gaurd stays and the disc centres?
Also how does the steering lock come out? I can see the roll pin but it is in a blind hole.

In the original '75 Mk3 sales brochure there are 3 colour schemes - Red with Silver stripes, Black with Gold stripes and Silver with Black and Red stripes. This last one had a wide Black and narrow Red stripe, but the Red and Black tanks had equal sized stripes.

Assuming you are after the Black tank with 2 Gold stripes? These are each 2mm wide with a 3mm gap between as measured on an Interstate here.

The Silver paint for the triple clamps, seems subjective, I've used Subaru Silver on my 850 Roadster and seen Mk3's with a slightly darker shade.

Dunno about the steering lock, they're pretty feeble security in any case.

You will probably have to drill out the roll pin, unless somebody has a better method?

The MkIII lock should then be knocked downwards to remove it.

Thanks Mick, your information on the gold stripes for the tank and grey colour for the triple clamps is exactly what I need. As there doesn't appear to be many Commandos about up here it's hard to find these details.

I used a piece of solid round stock and bashed the pin a lock tumbler out all in one go. It went straight into the trash soon after, never to make a repeat appearance.

I am currently painting the tank on a 74 Interstate. Are the stripe dimensions the same as the Mk 3? 2mm width seems too narrow. I am having trouble finding a good picture of a 74 Interstate for reference.
