P11 Handlebars

P11/P11A bars the cross brace is about an inch down from the top of the bend
Ranger brace is flush with the top.

Check the literature on the P11 thread I did a few years ago. Just search 'the P11 thread' - pics of original brochures and restored bikes

Make sure you read the text under the brochures - the bikes in the pictures aren't always the bike the ad says it is! The bike photographed for the ad was often outdated.

Thanks fellas. I am looking for bars like these with the lower crossbar. I like the gradual shape of the bends and height on this bar. Doesn't look to have too much pullback. The crossbar looks really low, I am not sure if it clears the knob, does not look to be the case on this photo.

The bars on both bikes in this ad would be Part# 031651 (or 03-1651)

The ad says P11A, but it is obviously a P11. Parts manual says N15CS, G15CS, P11 and P11A use this same bar. From what I've seen, the book is accurate in this case

Those bars with the lower crossbar are from an SS Commando, also an Interpol. I have them on my bike, and it does not clear the knob. It also puts them in an
uncomfortable position with the steering dampener installed.

SS bars would be great if the crossbar was a little higher. I think US Commando bars are the same but without the crossbar.

I think the p11 bars are too short or have too much pullback if you need to stand on pegs. Doesn't feel right.

I thought the pullback was to set the rider further back in the saddle? I started out with a parts bike and the handlebars never came with the boxes of parts with what I got. I purchased a H/bar from Walridge Motors. These came with the crossbar horizontal at the same height as the hand grips (aka Ranger as per BillT's description) but the end to end width across was 30.5". I am not sure if this is to the original width but that is what I have to work with.
Cheers,
Thomas

Since the P11 was designed for desert racing, you might be correct. The desert racers tend to ride with their body weight as far back as possible to lighten the front end in the soft terrain.
I understand that the bars Mike Partridge provides are a couple inches narrower than the originals, but are the closest to the originals as any modern production bars.

Does anyone have a used set of low crossbar '67 model bars they'd want to get rid of? Used bars would better match the rough appearance of my bike. Contact me via PM.
