Just got back from Cusco , Peru .
10 wks. gone , climbed Machu Picchu for big money over 2 days .
Stayed near the Former Norton Pub .
It's near the Plaza central Square , It's gone with the demise of our friend , killed by a truck , on his Norton , up in the mountains just north of Cusco city , killed a while back . There are 2 pubs beside it's former Location , Paddy's and Molly's , to take up the slack now . I found the Norton Pub sign pulled off the wall and the traces of it , the paint shadow of it still on the wall to view . The entire property is about completed with renovations by an architect with money , Patagonia Trekking gear has moved in below it for high end Trekking gear for sale . Andes mountains trekkers .

That's sad to read
Here's a Norton pub not far from me https://images.app.goo.gl/ksHiG8nhCu8cRs7t5

Good to know . Jeff Power . He pulled up stakes from Arizona quite a while back to move to Cusco with his wife and Norton . He leased the site ( Northeast corner ) , on the second floor overlooking the main Cathedral ( there are 3 and Inka walls too ) . They had a house higher up in the steep hills / mountains . In Peru and most developing countries , any larger vehicle rules the road , rules are just a suggestion , many corners do not have traffic lights at all , surprisingly we never saw an accident or incident in 10 weeks of motor travels . I saw 2 motorbikes impounded by the Police with damages though . Any incident all vehicles are impounded at the local station until fault is determined under Napoleonic law . All parties involved in a traffic ( or other ) incident are equally guilty until resolved . I refused to rent a bike in Peru . They drive extremely close and pass frequently up to 4 vehicles at a time . We counted 368 or so death memorial mini houses along the highway from Lima to Puno ( Lake Titicaca ) from our luxury bus , and the driver passed every chance he could get . Terrifying yet exciting .
