Norton in the Movies

Just watched this...a good'un indeed! Not only is the bike in the movie, I'd say it's the starring role....

There might be some Norton’s in the forthcoming ‘based on a true story’ movie rendition of... “The Wolf of Donington”...
But probably not as many as the movies advertising will suggest

Girl on a Motorcycle ... starring Ms Faithfull and a 650SS...
Just watching it on YouTube now, and two points....
1. Up til 30th minute of a 90 minute movie the only bike I've seen her ride is a Harley - does she trade it for a 650ss?
2. Her riding style is amazing - if you watch her in a German city (23rd minute) she goes round corners without leaning the bike at all!

Apparently her riding "double" in longer shots was none other than Bill Ivy.

Cheers
Rob

I always thought the Norton was a 750 atlas ?

I think the Norton is when her beau is giving her lessons and a bit of snow track work.

She dies on the Norton not the Harley.. but most of the stuff is showing her on the Harley apartfrom the scenes when she is being taught how to ride by Alan Delon . Didnt know Bill Ivy had done stunt work , but assumed the Norton shots round the bends had been done by speeding the film up... maybe not.

Started watching heartland on Netflix, was surprised to see a norton at season 3 episode 14. The 750 stays in the movie thru out. It gets wrecked and rebuilt a couple times. I enjoyed the series. Kind of a chick flick but enjoyed it. See if you can spot the norton bloopers.

Not for the faint hearted (and please don't ask/speculate how I know) but a couple of Mk3 Interstates appear in a very 'adult' continental shorty....
Anyone who owns YGO450S might not realise their bike's dark past!!!

Yes it does, I forgot about that one. I have the movie.
I too watched Then Came Bronson as a young lad...Have the movie and the series, now my wife (proud owner of a 2020 Triumph T-100 which she loves) enjoys watching the series several times a year...

Is this the normal type of film you like to watch EstuaryBoy ?

The 1968 British film “If . . .” stared Malcolm McDowell, Richard Warwick, Christine Noonan, David Wood, and Robert Swann. Early in the film Mick steal a motorbike from a showroom. The motorbike shop was filmed at the Broadway Motor Company on Gladstone Road, Wimbledon. As memory serves me the cycle was a BSA Lightning.

Great Canadian clip of a Commando in the music video "Ouch" by the Tragically Hip. Just released in the album "Saskadelphia".
BTW where it was filmed is the farm which I grew up years ago. Recent years have seen the landmark house and barn complex turned into a tourist site and wedding venue.

In season 13 of NCIS the character "Ducky" Mallard played by David McCallum (think "Man from U.N.C.L.E.") states something to the effect of being quite dashing tearing around on his Norton motorcycle in his younger days.
