I think that he was being facetious...... an attempt at jocularity.
acotrel isn't a "chopper guy".
I believe, if it's your bike, do what you want to with it!!!!
Paint it pink and glue rhinestones all over it if that's what floats your boat.
Personally, I think that clip ons and rear sets are ridiculous on a street bike
and I would rather ride a chopper than a uncomfortable repli-racer.
It's all a matter of preference I guess.
Good thing the world is a big enough place to accommodate all of us.

Can anyone identify that stepped seat?
Regarding chopping. My neighbor took me with him to see the Norton I eventually bought. It was complete and stock. He said if he got it, he would have taken an angle grinder to it. I am all for freedom of expression but when you have something so complete, I don't get the appeal of mutilating it. Get a basket case and bring it back from the dead in any form you choose. But when you have a live one, let it live. IMO.
EDIT: Now that I look at the seat closer, it appears to be the standard seat that was modified.

Youll need a Gas torch & a Disc grinder .And a Crate of BEER .
1/. First drink the crate of beer .
2/. Chop the front and other bits off , with the disc grinder .
3/. sit it on the beer crate .
4/. Use the gas torch to reafix the parts all stretched out . Use a bit of waterpipe if short on tubeing .
5/. get a large can of bondo , and smear all over the welds , in case anyone looks .
Next Installment . A phychodelic paint job . :wink:

But its just Not ART . 
For say $25.000 , if you take it to the twattlles , they could do THIS .
Youll get noticed much more then , and get a warm fuzzy feeling inside .
Make sure you recycle anything you remove . take it to the nearest Scrap dealer .
