I saw my first 961 yesterday at the track, very nice they are.

The owner also had a really cool 1933 Royal Enfield V twin.

I got talking to him and the Norton is an early production model and he has done engine mods to it and says its been dynoed at 100 BHP. I joked that he is like the Norton R and D department .....I gather that is partly true as he said one of the Norton guys is coming out here to have a look at it.
I did not see it on the track as I was busy with mine and a mates bike but he dropped it and I could not bring myself to take pics of it sitting in the back of the van covered in mud/grass. Damage is light and in his words "should buff out"
Heres a pic of Team Bavaria, with only 50 BHP we just diced at the back of the field.....fun though.

I did my best time ever so I was a happy chappy :D

You can make about anything fit in anything else but some combo are just too innane to even consider like this one.

On the other hand if a hop up market developed for the New Nortons, hot dog, that would make em much more desirable and preserve long terms to become a living classic in its own right. When it ever gets more powerful than most buyers can ever use then it sure will be. Will will know its main stream success when the chopper versions show up : )

Hi John, motor in the frame this week and then off to Ngaruawahia for headers from Paul Bryant at Viking.
had some issues with brand new oil pumps from Andover, so will post findings and results on those.

Saw a bit of the 2013 IOMTT on TV today. There was a part showing the 961 in action, and an interview with Garner. That's a serious motor cycle.

I suggest the success of the 961 will depend on how it feels when it is ridden. If it goes fairly hard and handles superbly, and lets you feel the hairs growin on your chest, it could gain a niche market. It looks like it might have 'soul'.
