This video is a bit clunky but the subject is of interest to any owner of an old British bike. I picked it up off the webBikeWorld site.

I'm sure some of you tech gurus would be familiar with this (very expensive) solution to the problem of vibration resistance. Has any one used them?

At £17 for a bag of 5 17mm stainless washers I am sticking to nylocs or Loctite. Pity as it looks a good concept.

Thanks for posting this info on lock washers, Diver3284. Unfortunately I can't help you with your query because I have not used them. I hadn't actually ever heard of them until now, I learn something new all the time here on access norton---I love this forum :D

Been using them on the Turret Punch Presses I install/repair since 1994. M12, M8,M10. Work great. Overkill for our bikes. If your stuff is rattling apart, your doing it wrong.

Used them in engineering and they do what's on the tin. Never had to use them on the Norton though.

I use them all the time to hold our drill rigs together at work, took a while to get the backwards muppets to change, the finish lasts well on them to ,dont rust up within 6months, biggest down fall is reuse as the washer falls apart when undone ,its glued together when new, they are also a hardened washer . We can only get metric sizes and they have a lot of clearance as standard ie 12mm will fit 1/2'' so 3/8'' is disgustingly sloppy
