Well with this virus spreading around Aussie land since they opened the boarders I am finding things to keep me amused at home, added a new snooker table to the shed last year and now just bought a big Carrera Digital slot car set 100 piece of track, 9 cars and 4 piece table tops to go with it, made frames to fit the tops in my 1/4 room in my shed and today I just sold my mill/drill that wasn't being used to pay for what I spent on the slot car set up.
I still have 25 pieces of track left over so need to make a added extension to use the rest so will be more changes soon but at the moment its all go for a racing night planned with a few drinking mates, drink drive racing lol.

What a big kid you are!!!!
Brilliant mate, I'd have that in a heartbeat if I had space!!

Nice! I spent many an hour racing slot cars on commercial tracks. I started around 1965 when the cars were plastic models adapted to an aluminum chassis. The first track I raced on was home built by the hobby shop proprietor..

When I hit 40 I told myself I am going to go backwoods instead of going up in age last November I turned 17 again lol, in my younger days we also raced slot car at commercial tracks back in the late 60s them days most major suburbs had a track, the good thing with these digital slot cars you can have 6 cars racing and 2 ghost cars on twin tracks with changing lanes I have 4 on my set up, but the last few days I have changed the layout with a longer straight and am changing my shed around to add more track, will add new pics tomorrow with the changes I have done so far. I have had it for 2 weeks now took a few days making the table frames and I been having so much fun doing this even with the hot humid days we been having, I think I have lose some kgs from all the sweating I have done and the person I bought the slot car set up off was waiting for new tyres for all the cars, he got them yesterday and posted them to me express post, got them today as some of the cars the tyres were to worn to grip the track.
There is a commercial track about 15 minutes drive from my place they have a few tracks and also have a drag strip where they have Friday nights slot car drag racing, I haven't been to it but my oldest daughter and her BF have, but mates, beer and fun, what could possibly go wrong o_O :D .

I've got a friend who built a giant track, based on FOUR 4'x8' sheets of 3/4" plywood, up on 4x4 legs about 36" off the floor.

Lots of fun, if you are any good.

As kids, we would get together with all the straight track we had and did a drag strip. I had a 41 Willys body on a aluminum slot car chassis. Good fun.

The hobby shop I referred to in my first post above also had a drag strip. They had 36V DC battery power on the drag strip. I had a drag car similar to the one you had. A 1/32 scale 1940s era car plastic model shell on an aluminum chassis.

Ahhh the fun we have, I haven't really got into the new set up yet as I keep changing things and now decided to extend the tables so I can use more of the left over tracks, my workshop is getting smaller but the fun is going to get bigger, I am having as much fun setting this SC track up as much fun testing it out and a big race night is coming up.
Pic to come.

I built this shed over 30 years ago now and a change is always good, what's better in life than having a few fun toys to keep us out of trouble and being retired for 8 years now I still have things to do and keep busy everyday when not out on the bikes.
The shadow boards are part of the old wall that I opened up at the end of the slot car track and were only painted 2 days ago then rehanging the tools took a few hours, got rid of the old peg boards that were over the workbenches.

Sweet!

Now you just need a sticker collection for the track walls so it looks all F1! ;-)
Have a full set of stickers that was given to me from the old owner that were never used, before I use them I want the whole set up all done and the way it will stay, I still have 25 pieces of track so a few over passes will be made and the set up changed again till its the way I want it where I opened to room up I will be making another table section so I can extend the track but it will make my workshop area a bit smaller the good thing about the lift table for the bikes it outside of the shed under the open awning and a lot cooler to work on the bike, having thing that can be moved around makes life so easy for me, I have work cabinets that are on casters even the snooker cues and balls are set on a mobile cabinet.

You will have to whittle out a few Norton outfits to race....
What do the pooches think of it?

Was doing that in '62 on the big tracks. $.50 and hour. Those old guys use to get so pissed off when my brother and I would beat them. The right controller and a rewound Kemtron in the right chassis were quick with the right tires. Once the tires went off not so much. They just flew off the track.
Good old days

Have fun with that track.
