We had some of our kids and grandkids in for Thanksgiving this year (in the past, it had been ALL of them). Anyway, the weather was absolutely perfect, and my oldest daughter had notified me in advance she wanted to go on a decent ride.
Well, it turned into rides for everybody, with my wyfe taking some on the '00 Triumph Legend triple, and me taking others on the '03 Concourse.
We wove through town a while, then changed passengers (my son-in-law graciously drove the chase vehicle full of alternate passengers). The weather couldn't have been more perfect, it was low 70s, slight breeze, mostly sunny.
Got in a little highway riding to the Tourist Bureau about 18 miles out, made a quick pit stop and passenger swap, then cruised a couple of clover leaf interchanges to take in the views from a hundred feet up.
Did one more passenger swap then TRIED to do a brisk river road run, but got balked by Border Patrol cruisers; great roads aren't as great at sub-speed-limit speeds.
The grandkids took photos from the pillion positions, and a good time was had by all. My youngest grandaughter also got in her FIRST ride (up and down our family drive to the pond and back. She was thrilled)
Even though I had already done a hayride with the small plywood-based bike trailer towed behind the lawn tractor all around the pond and winding through the families' yards, and my sister had put on a great little petting zoo, the kids all agreed the motorcycle ride was the high point of the weekend.
I thought so, too.
(It also sealed the deal when my ex-wife posted a fuming rebuke on face book. She HATES bikes)
