My cam didn't come from Dunstall but Was fabricated to spec. and nitrided.

Ok, if you'd mentioned in post #31 that the camshaft had (apparently?) been drilled through to the cam lobes with the breather holes blanked off then all would have been clear as what you said in reply to my post was that "The feed was through a breather camshaft".

No offence L.A.B. that was my mistake but to be honest I no longer was fully aware of the workings and did not want to mislead anybody. It had been discussed in his workshop and I had seen a reworked cam but I am no 'Guru' when it comes to discussing the technical fine details.
I knew the Commando had a problem with cam oiling and I knew I was talking to a man who I could trust.
Just to mention during my visit I saw many Manx Nortons and have never seen such a complicated valve timing mechanism but lets not start another misleading conversation.
