Hi all, starting this new thread in hopes of getting some clear direction.
My Boyer Power Box failed.
So I bought a single phase rectifier thinking all I need to do was covert AC to DC.
But now DogT points out that my Boyer Power Box likely had a regulator built in to prevent overcharging but my new rectifier does not.
SO, what to do?
Throw the rectifier away and order a new Boyer Power box?
OR, now that the new rectifier is al hooked up, can I buy a regulator to wire in place, like at radio shack?
I got rid of the zenor and all that other stuff years ago when I bought the Power Box.
What would happen if I started and rode my bike with the new rectifier installed but no rectifier?
explode my battery or something?
Hope you all can educate about this
edit: another question? What if I just disconnect the black wire from the rectifier going to the negative battery?
then no juice could overcharge the battery? I could in theory ride until the battery itself went flat?
just a question
