Ugh if I saw maxed out vintage with world class pilots as any competition I'd not made a peep about Peel. I flat state you have no real idea of the handling capacity you now have with the rump link Jim. You've only gotten mere hints in the loaded down hwy wind gusts and hands off stability down to a stop....

Maybe you'all don't yet know what ya's missing out on like i do.

Just in case you've forgotten, Steve, Jim put in years of competitive racing on Commandos, in both vintage and modern classes, trying all sorts of mods on them (he's an inventive fellow). He's collected his share of trophies back in the day. Not to mention the thousands of street miles criss-crossing the country on his current Commando. He's not exactly what you call a timid rider. I can assure you that he has more than enough experience with the handling capabilities of Commandos.

***IT IS NOT me *** IT IS MS PEEL***
***IT IS NOT me *** IT IS MS PEEL***

Rider skill has no more chance against Peel than a one wheel rear drive only car on street tires against awd rally car on race tires. Put same novice in each one and see how long it takes to figure out > no contest. I ain't speculating and hoped by now someone respected would of put Peel linkage to the test. I lost Bob Patton's posts on what he told me he could do in Mt twisties so easy it sold me to try it & it changed my life path on what to devote spare time too. Every other cycle has to worry about breaking free too easy Peel had to worry about not going in harsh enough to break free.
Again I mention the 2nd most fantastic sensation after the breath taking G's, how easy effortless thoughtless Peel became instead of wearing me down she was a thrilling refreshment totally predicatable. Count how many other cyclers love to blast into decreaser so much they try to make every widening sweeeper a few of them in a row. Crazy making descriptions to anyone not experiencing what is possible. If peels proving were just neck and neck I'd of assumed just lack of rider skill/bravery giving Peel advantage, nope way beyond what I could pull on race set up Ninja and only one turn to be back to my routine solo fun.

Serious deadly level public risks as a stroke Ken, so I never pressed anyone's tail light to pressure them into fatal error but always held a few lengths back waiting for them to commit to corner cripple line then zoom around so fast and far ahead ON PURPOSE so they would not be tempted to try to follow Peels lines or likely die as so many other corner cripples leaving Ozark riding paradise for hell. You've heard seen real squids in CA or on video, well guess what shows up at my ground zero with a sneering attitude chip on shoulder fastest draw in town not big enough for .... Most of Peels contests started with me coming up from behind to see the crazy games passing in blinds so tagged along till bored and blasted around them, not wanting to hang around for the possible carnage of be responsible for it trying to catch me. Only ones I played tease game with were the Hydabursas that would try to use their power when we were leaving intersection into mild turns, I'd wait till close behind till just out of sight then nail in through a few turns to next open and slow up to legal but 100's of yard smaller than last seen a few seconds ago. Would let em catch up close thinking they had me when I'd disappear going slowish around a bend to reappear like magic as small spec on next view down an open. Fun fun fun for old fart.

There were a half dozen events Peel got passed in opens - after they finally caught up with her lead out the sharp stuff so you are key savior to fix that weakness in past Peel. My SuVee is not nearly powerful enough to have played these level biker games even though I could match what other sports bikers could do in turns they'd leave SV impossibly behind after first apex whether I got there first on not. Try it the high is never ending.

Do Not mis read what I'm saying, I don't have the background and skill or nerve required to race such a variety of cycles like JIm and you and so many others. It freaks me out to know what it takes to control such dangerous cycles with their constant lurking element of the UNPREDICABLE so I have all the respect in the world for real racers. I want to tempt a real racer or 3 to have his way with Peel to see what they think and can do with her.
Peel so simplified and eased everything I only had to pay attention to rear patch reaction and throttle response as fork steering essentially took care of itself so I got other things on my mind with Peel beyond mere tire traction and fork control. Ms Peel was so incredable good I risk alienating everyone that knows me and trys to help me when describing what ya missing out on.
========================================================

It took two seasons for out of state word to get out about the Kingston or Bugger County Norton Nut. They did not sneer at me and Ms Peel. Few local squids could afford what they fielded against Peel. Peel and me are outlaws to rules so would like a hobby asking various track school instructors try to video Peel and post it. They know their limits there so would be safe for everyone. This year a hand full from Texas crowed up at my clinic I just happened to be at in car, they wanted to play on their BMW's, Aprilla's CBX's GRXS and KLM's. The hot shot leader of the pack, I'd pull out of their pack on past Peel is a Japanese man sharp and eager atheistic fighter pilot type, crap they all are but me. Do not know if Peel could compete with vintage racers though as I'm an Ichabod type.

Btw back on topic next Peel is really an experiment, going by my sense and conditions and good above good reports of vertical shocks on Commando and other vintage racers, Peel gets 2" longer shocks in stock mounts but can play with the sag factor a few inches on the fly so who knows what that will be like. Comstock's mention of the wiggly-ness of angled shocks on isolastics etc was not lost on me so mention again how much better Peel going in fine sense of control and extra grip was with tires aired 58/56 but over rev event happened before trying 60's PSI. Ever hear of a hard aired race cycle? Might in future as tires are the main let down of moderns to my mind yet the most advanced thing about them.

If ya make the Cdo too stiff and rigid it looses its traction control dampening effect of the isolastics working nicely in conjunction with shocks and tire hysteria. If there's much slack in the system it allows rebounding. The Cdo being a two part craft has magic potential in allowing the power unit to move a few mm's w/o bothering the front tire aim and can take power pulses better before skip/chirping crashing out of traction w/o bothering pilot with buzz of moderns. Its the loading/unloading with some slack that starts rebounding to spoil turning fun.
