If you lower the needles in the carbs one notch, you should be able to induce a miss in the motor when you ride the bike - then raise them one notch. If you lower them in a 0.107 needle jet, you might not get the miss. There are 5 (?) notches on the needles. If the half thou difference with a 0.1065 needle jet is critical, each notch relates to an adjustment of 0.0001 inch in jet internal diameter. That amount of adjustment is significant when using methanol. When using petrol, it is twice as significant.
I suggest it would not be normal to jet a road bike carb that close. The changes in the weather would have too much affect.
My bike is always on methanol, even the taper on the needles has a noticeable effect and that surprised me. With petrol, getting best performance would be almost impossible.
When I was young, I also believed the bullshit about running methanol rich, and the carburation on my road bike meant nothing to me as long as my motor started and ran without missing.
