Does anyone have a source for a Mk3 kick start lever at a cost more reasonable than, say, $250 US? I imagine I'll have to get a new one whatever the cost is, but would love to find it for less.

Currently, they are $141USD (£94 GBP) from Andover Norton plus shipping and any import taxes you may have to pay (you don't pay the UK 15% VAT)?

KICKSTART LEVER ASSY.
Part Number: 121018

Beware of pattern kickstart levers!

There's one on ebay UK at the moment , it's second hand, needs re-chroming and the top arm, but it's only £18 at present, might be worth a punt. No.: 140304865229

You may want to get a really, really good look at the teeth on the kick lever on ebay. Most that are for sale are stretched out and shredded worse than a loose exhaust port. I know - I bought one in my naive youth at a swap meet. Then I bought a cheap pattern one, had to re-bend it and and re-chrome. :p

I agree with fastback, used ones are likely to be bent and have bad splines. I have two like that in my junk parts box. I would avoid the pattern ones as well, and stick with the genuine ANIL part.

I paid about $250 for the last one I ordered. With the exchange rate being more favorable, now's a good time to order (from England, not from domestic suppliers). It's like Norton parts being on sale!

Yep, I'll go with new, especially since I don't want to risk a worn lever against a somewhat worn shaft!

I bought my Mk III lever about three months ago. It was $173 at the time. My local guy, Wes Scott, calculates the cost when he gets a shipment in, and writes the price on the bag with an indelible marker. If he has three of something, there may be three different prices, depending on the exchange rate when the piece was bought.

$173 seemed like a lot, but well worth it compared to the RS lever that came with the bike.
