Just buy one of Jim Comstock’s (Comnoz) valves and both issues are dealt with.
1)You have a partial vacuum in the cases.
2) Wet sumped oil is pumped back to the tank in the first few revolutions after startup.

And you have really nicely engineered device!

1. I can't speak for Constant, but I don't know how else to interpret 'I don't believe you.' It's unnecessary.
2. I've had old bikes in my life for over 40 years, so I know about those clichés.
3. My opinion is that any device between tank and pump is a bomb waiting to go off.

All spring-loaded valves misused in oil feed lines are the same "type." They are spring loaded valves.
Did you read the scary instructions about needing a perfect, newly overhauled pump, bleeding the system and staring into the oil tank to see the return after any lengthy parking ? That was written with lubrication failure on his mind. They also read like get-out clauses.
