I just received the PVC valve from Mike's. Good service and I noticed he's changed his shipping policy. I had mine sent out via USPS and the charge was reasonable. Anyway, today I happened upon a promotional Symba motor scooter (made in Taiwan by Sanyang Ind.) sitting in a bank lobby today. Looking the little beast over, I happened to notice our beloved PVC valve installed in its breather line. It's the EXACT part. So maybe it's not off a lawn tractor after all

PVC - poylvinyl chloride. PCV - positive crankcase ventilation. Is it really a piece of plastic? I suppose it could be a PVC PCV.

I took a pic of the pcv to a local mower and chainsaw shop, one which has a workshop and works on both domestic and commercial mowers/ride ons, but they had never seen anything like the valve.

Air valves used on American cars work fine. The advantage is that you can put it next to the timing case. You do need to make an adapter to fit the threaded part of the valve and end in a barb for the outlet hose. Here's a pic of mine and a bunch of posts from about 15 years ago on the subject.
