I'm not a market analyst, but if a new, humphed over, liter bike were offered in a solid color or multi-color with graphics, I'm betting the latter would outsell the solid color 10-1. Me, I'm for the one in ten.

Scruff,
I'm lovin that emerald green nice touch. I have a friend in area w/ 1970 roadster in metal flake blue. Bike is dead nuts stock and original to include all original leaks. He has'nt even changed the yellowed fuel lines. So metal flake blue was ordered by at least 1 person in Penna. It looks like Dave's bike pictured. I've been to a couple shows and way to many black commandos.
I saw one gun metal grey which looked bad to the bone although not era correct.
The psychadelic era was a beautiful thing 8)

I know what you mean about late 60 early 70 colours thats why my Atlas turned purple, but it was not as spectacular as Tonys. I could not touch the green on the fastback as even with the small scratchs and origional factory flaws + scratched transfers it would be a crime to change it. I have 1970 roadster which is finished in a red colour and inside the tank you can see the bright yellow fibreglass finish which back then when my mate had that colour I was in love with it and that memory is what brought me back to the Commando at this age as with all the bikes I have had I never had a commando. If I ever pull my finger out and complete the roadster it has to be that purple of Tonys. I got a bit down with the roadster after I bought it as it had a few problems like bent frame and other things but after reading the post on the bent frames and the positive comments and I have obtained a later frame I have no exscuse not to complete it.

My MkIIA arrived in a very shabbily applied black and gold paintjob with 'authentic' sticky tape pinstripes...

My ex-biker brother was horrified when he found out I wasn't going to paint it black again - he couldn't comprehend anything else!

It was originally candy red, but the metalflake blue just looks soooooo much better IMHO.

I've seen some photos of an immaculate gold roadster which is simply stunning, but that'll have to wait until I can get hold of an early 750

Definitely not a member of the Velocette replica society ;)
