I have a book with all of the various Commando road tests through the build years.
The majority of the road tests show a top speed of a STOCK Commando of between 105-112.
The highest was at 114mph I believe.
Isolastics and Commando handling?
Nothing wrong and bad about the front iso, replacing the head stead with a rod linkage is a plus
most agree that shimming the rear iso to around 5 thou cuts way down on any swing arm movement,
while delivering some more buzz to the foot pegs, that should take care of side to side play
the rear spindle over time will cause wear in the bushings/cradle resulting again in swing arm play
the fix was first found by Heinz Kegler with his two aluminum rings with bolts through to the spindle
