Hi All -
Checking thread histories on the search tool above, I don’t find any recent updates regarding the M Unit and wiring harnesses for the Commando. I have a couple friends who are now rewiring a /5 BMW using this method as the headlight harness is a nightmare. Seems to be something that has caught on with the airhead BMW guys in general.
The M Unit approach has my interest for lots of reasons, not the least of which is the ability to track down wiring issues quickly and the use of a circuit breaker approach to resetting. It can be used with either positive or negative ground.
Anyone have experience rewiring a Commando utilizing an M Unit while maintaining positive ground? I am very interested in the process and any results.
My MKIII is in need of a new harness, and I would like to evaluate this possibility.
Thanks!
Tom
