Lower pegs

Not seen Nick. Interesting though, especially for we ganglier guys. Gonna put adjustable clipons on my CR to ease the angles, but have often thought what a huge difference dropping the pegs even slightly would make. They are high and tight to say the least.

The riding position on the 961 CR is more extreme than my riding mate’s Ducati V4S - or was, before he inadvertently shortened the wheelbase!!🫣

I have both (CR & V4 Speciale) and I can second the above comment. It's due to the stretch over the tank. My mate who owns a Thruxton RS has been on my CR at the TT and he literally cannot ride it.

The 961 CR is right up there with the Ducati Paul Smart Replica as being the most uncomfortable bikes I’ve ever owned or ridden.

I concur, it is the long stretch to the clip PMs that’s a big factor.

Hmmmmm I am Mr Average 5'9" possible slightly long arms/ average legs but find it absolutely perfect even with clip-ons. Shows how personal the fit is and some options should be available to adjust the fit...

Initial thoughts were to make updated mounting plates. RH brake shouldn't be too much of a problem but the peg would come out near the frame tube or near to the exhaust. Gearchange link is a bit contorted anyway and lowering would foul the linkage with the exhaust.....

Only way I can see is to retain existing plates and use existing footpeg mounting position as a pivot for modified/lower gear/brake levers which lower the foot contact points and a kind of dog-leg modified lower footpeg. Bit of a winter project........

I was thinking ground clearance may be an issue with lower pegs....but on reflection (looking at me on the bike) the exhaust will hit first!

Lower pegs

I could have sworn I found a source for footpeg lowering kits for the SP but now I can't find it. Anyone?
If you are a member of the Facebook group you may have seen that one of the Japanese owners had a set made there, and one of the British guys bought a set as well (not cheap though by all accounts).

For whatever reason the link doesn’t work. If you look at the post on November 1st 2019 you should be able to see it. Here’s a couple of pics from the post…

Maybe it’s the angle the photos are taken at, but they don’t look to be very different from the standard position to me ?

Looks expensive - including new frame extentions/ footpeg hanger for both sides. Gear change linkage looks awkward as hell. Not for me - there has to be an easier way using the existing setup, including footpeg mounting plates.

It's completely different. Standard goes under the casing
Goes under the casing? I assume you are referring to the gear linkage rod?

If so, I understand that.

My point is the footrest position (this thread is about lowered pegs) and they don’t look much / any lower to me.

Looking at the pics, I think the purpose of this exercise was to bring the legs ‘inboard’ not to make them lower.
