Lost my key

It's a harley barrel key switch, 3 position, I have them on all my brit bikes (there's no 4 position option that I know of ). I was just tired of the issues I was having with the lucas switches (original and replacements), tumblers wearing out, ignition cutting when switching to lights etc... I know they can be made to function well, but for $30, these barrel switches have been rock solid (and I never have to worry about the key falling out!)
Ok cheers
Are they physically s similar size?
I only ask as I have had problems with my ignition switch on my t160 and I'd like to change it for something better
Currently it's a new type IE green box "Lucas" one
It worked for about a year before it would only run in the park position
I had to take it apart, clean it and re stake the brass contact to make proper engagement
Sorry to the original poster for straying a little off topic
Cheers

Thanks Beach, I hope this isn't the case! The guy I bought it from assured me that I could remove the original tumbler without the key for this switch. Very much hoping that him and Peavey Jelts are correct on this one!
I'm hoping they're correct too. I work on so many different bikes hard to keep em straight.

Overall dimensions are very close: the body on these is 1.75" long with a .75" mounting hole, lucas switch body is 1.7" long with a .78" mounting hole. The ones I buy are sealed with shrink tube around the back of the switch and wiring harness.

Bookmarked this for later ref with th p/n

Hey all,

I spent a couple of minutes with the switch last evening and had no trouble removing the tumbler without the key. I also noted the FS number on the face of it where Gortnipper said it was. I could have just ordered a key and saved myself a few bucks. But I spent very little on the new tumbler and new set of keys so it'll be ok ;). I'm just happy that my hot-wiring days are nearly over!

I used one of these switches on a Special. It looked great, but after a bit of use it has become rather crunchy to turn on and off.
It's at a point now where the detent positions are quite vague and key must be wiggled to get contact. I suspect something has broken internally.
The one I used is "Made in China"
