Lost Clutch Issue

This nut unscrewing was the first real problem with my Norton from brand new. Temp fix was tightening using a baby tire iron from the toolkit and a piece of Pocono granite by the side of the highway. I replaced it maybe 40 years later. I do have the right tool now.

So theres blue loctite 242 and blue loctite 243. 243 is better for exposure to oil. I have been to 3 stores and they only have 242. This is for the mainshaft nut timing side. Lots of oil there. Keep looking or just use the 242? Weather is nice. Would rather not wait for shipping.

242 will hold tight. Degrease and it will hang in. Used it for decades.

Ok- blue loctite, 70ft lbs, cleaned clutch plates, polished covers, careful re-assembly and adjustments, and new oils. Started right up. 15 mile shakedown run was great. Problem solved. Hopefully.

Thanks for all your guidance. Looking forward to a longer run tomorrow. Might be last one of the season.
