I am in the process of replacing the wiring in my MK III.

A pilot light is of no use in my local area (mandatory headlamp, been stopped before trying to run with pilot only).

If I wanted the headlamp to be on regardless of the position of the head/pilot switch (when the ignition switch is set to Ign & Lights position), and
I switched to a Bosch (Swedish version) H4 lens without pilot hole (45/40W bulb), and I wanted to preserve the pilot light wiring against use in the future;

should I:

a. Jumper between the Blue/Yellow and the Blue wires in the R-hand switch, or

b. Leave it open between the Blue/Yellow and the Blue?

I think the answer is (a), but reading and comprehending a wiring diagram was never one of my strong points (if indeed I have any).

thanks,
lee

P.S. Is there some reason I should not do what I'm suggesting? BTW, this is just to get the bike running again, I expect to eventually go to a relay setup.

Yes, that should do it. Or, jumper the Blue/Yellow and Blue at the harness connections.

BTW I put a 20 watt halogen pilot lamp in my headlamp and it's excellent as a DRL.

Thanks - my intention was to jumper at the harness, just didn't describe it well.

I tried that some time ago - was stopped by a local policeman who was kind enough to let me go with a warning - "the law says headlight ON, and that isn't a headlight".
