The Jota was a bit before the Superbike era. The original 180 crank Jota was big in endurance racing mostly in Europe for a couple of years, before Godier Genaud and JapAuto Kawasaki really got their act together. To counter this, Laverda (never with a half baked idea) brought out a V6 racer. It was the fastest thing on the track but sady only made one appearance and Laverda withdrew from racing and not long after from production all together. The last fling Jota was the 120 crank with a semi faired bodywork. It was smoother, more refined and frankly, boring. The GS1000 Suzuki was faster, handled better....and you know the rest.
