Kickstart RPM

Enough RPM while kicking might save petrol, the heavy crank has a lot of inertia. If you take the plugs out you could just get the crank spinning and ride to work. We could have buses with huge flywheels - just spin them up at the depot and zoom everywhere with zero emissions.

Just enough RPM to achieve an engine start.

That being said:
RGM Kickstart or OEM?
Weight of rider?
How tall or short are you?
Age of rider? Having two bad knees and a hip replacement?
Compression of engine?
Wet sump oil in engine?

Too many variables now introduced.
What's your point?
When you can't kickstart your ride anymore because of age, then there is the e-start option which I believe has 3 vendors making them other than buying the MkIII.

Hot or cold engine?

Is this one of those how low an RPM does it take to kick start your Norton things?

Glen can have that trophy. :)

I have discovered it doesn't take much of a kick even with a cold engine if the ignition is working right and the timing is within a degree or two of being correct. Other than that, I don't have a tach and will never know what I can accomplish with my right leg.

Yep, like how many licks it takes to get to the chocolate center of a Tootsie Pop...

I used to have a sunbeam rapier (H120) with twin 40's high comp and all other updates. The standard distributor for it had weights instead of the standard vacuum advance to the family saloon. Weak springs took it to fully advanced around 750 rpm ! Always wondered why ? Rapid engine foor it's day !

Vacuum advance was added to cars. They kept the centrifugal advance as well.

This was built in 74. All other detuned variants had vacuum? Something to do with the state of tune.

I had a 1971 sunbeam rapier
It had the standard twin Strombergs from memory 🤔
I blew the engine racing with a 240z
Yeah I know!!!🙄🙄🙄🤣🤣🤣

It takes only one rev per day to start my bike. I don't know how many RPM that is. If it has got fuel and spark, it will start first time the motor turns over. I just put it on the rollers with the enrichers on, stand on the button, and as soon as it turns over, it immediately starts. Even if I push-start it, I only need to run 3 steps.
It is quite common for inexperienced people to fuel spark plugs. And there is another thing. If the bike has been standing for a long time, sometimes the carbon on the plugs can conduct, and a plug change is needed. You can kick the shit out of it, and it will not start when that happens.
Too many people seem to grab a handful of throttle when they kickstart a bike. It should start on the enricher with the throttle closed. Just wait until the idle starts to slow, then take the enricher off before giving it a rev.
Your carburation should be as lean as possible at all throttle openings.

Do not make things more difficult than they really are - do everything slowly. Motorcycles cannot think.
