I’m now up to 38,000 miles on the JS lightweight pistons and long rods. Its still running as smooth, tight and clean as it did when it was just rebuilt. I’ve made several upgrades but the lightweight pistons were the biggest improvement. Photos below were taken a year ago at 30,000 miles when I had to tear it down to fix an oil leak. You can see what great shape the pistons and cylinders were in then (some carbon was cleaned off). Runs crisp and full of pep, more so than with the Hepolites and short original rods. Minimal oil consumption. Very pleased so far. I expect to get at least 50,000 miles from this motor before rebuilding again.

Very good news to see. What's the cold bore clearances you choose? How high have ya rev'd up and what oil used?

Cycle,
This is good to know. I am putting the Lightweights in my P-11 at +20 and 0.0055" cylinder to piston clearance. Did you go for the cylinder bore treatment?
Thanks,
Tom

I'm just a cruizer, not a racer. I'm in it for the long run.
