so, moto guzzi didn’t have their own wind turbine to get the fairing right :?:

On the contrary - Guzzi were said to be the only maker that did have their own wind tunnel. (from when though ?).
You don't do fast laps in a wind turbine.
MIRA was the Motor Industry test facilites - in Warwickshire.
After WW2 it was just a disused runway, but became quite a test facility.

Anyone been there - its still in operation.

I was interested in the comment by Dances about riding into a head wind. Sometimes I have experienced turning into the wind and felt the bike slow dramatically. However it seems to happen more with two strokes than with big twin four strokes. - Might be due to the flywheel weight ? Or engine torque characteristics ?

Re; “ On the contrary - Guzzi were said to be the only maker that did have their own wind tunnel.”

You have again misread my reply this is what I actually meant with the question mark at the end .
They had the wind tunnel when they developed their 250/350 singles, then the V8, but it was just an hole in the ground, with high earth bank sides, any one got a picture of this earlier tunnel :?:

If you don't say anything remotely like what you mean, and we have to guess what you actually mean,
then we could beat around the bush here all year..

This is a regular feature of you here ?
We are not mind readers, nor can we see your eyebrows here, say it in writing.

You probably shave them off to cut down the drag for better fuel consumption in the traffic ? My 1939 Mercury was streamlined, it used to get 15 miles per Imperial gallon as long as I did not hang my arm out the window.

Helmets are required in traffic here.

Wonder if bare heads are more streamlined...

Most of these Norton race fairing were deprived from the Peel mountain mile fairings;

Well they both go over the handlebars, are made from fibreglass for motorcycles. Apart from that not too many similarities, to my eyes anyway
cheers
