Curious if anyone here has any experience with an online vendor ItalianIron? Nicely put together website, and a good looking Norvil-style half fairing and windscreen at a very competitive price. Only issue I see is they request payment before calculating shipping. That’s a blank check I’d prefer not to sign. They do note they’ll provide a pr-payment shipping quote for serious orders. I sent an email expressing my sincerity.

I’ve had a paid-in-full order for a Dunstall half-fairing/dashboard/screen with Glass from the Past for a couple months now. I know it’s not unusual to wait a while with them, and I did connect with them around New Years.

Anyone had better luck here or anywhere else? My 750 “Dunstall Replica@ is nearly done, and the painter is getting antsy.

Cheers,

Which Air-Tech fairing have you fellows used on a Commando?

The GFTP Dunstall fairings look pretty close to the originals, including the optional dash panel. Haven’t seen anything else that close.

I’d looked at Moto Forza as well; nice, but I’d like to keep as close to The Look that mesmerized a certain 18 year old in 1969.

If you use clip ons you should be fine. but if you use EU bars, like I have, you will need to mount the headlight forward to clear the M/C and switch gear. I haven't tried it with the weastern bars yet. If others have please pipe in.

I’m planning on a half-fairing, and yes, will be using clip-one.

Is this Scott Wilson's outfit? He's also a reseller for TGA.
Haven't dealt with him as I'm in the UK, but he's been going for a while

Thanks for that very helpful bit of information; it is indeed his business, and he responded promptly to an email with a contact number and answers to my questions.

I had asked Scot about fairing brackets, and he suggested Norvil.

Ok, so Norvil’s extensive website offers a complete production racer fairing (shell/screen/headlamp cover/brackets/all hardware) for £445,£120 shipping to US.

That’s pretty good, and they advertise “99.99% of parts in stock”

Any comments about Norvil’s quality/service? Has anyone here seen one of their fairings in real life?

You'll see a lot of (justified) criticism on here, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy fibreglass stuff from Norvil.
I've had 2 of their PR fairings (and mudguards, tailpieces, seats etc.) now, and the quality is good.
It could be argued it's a little heavy for race use, but great for a road machine.

Thanks for the valuable real life experience info! Good observation weight…this will be strictly street use, and a little extra heft is fine.

I’ve had spectacular service/shipping from Andover Norton via DHL (I’m in California USA) but haven’t yet shopped Norvil.

I see Andover also has a PR fairing kit…a bit more expensive, but less shipping DHL. I also don’t see color options beyond yellow; perhaps heresy, but I’m pretty committed to black/gold.

Is the Norvil glass color gel coat or painted?

I wonder if Andover and Norvil sell the same parts? I’ve got inquiries sent to both regarding lead times and color options.

It's gel coat 'self coloured' from Norvil.
Can't be certain, but it wouldn't be surprising if they're from the same source.
From what Les Emery (the Norvil owner) told me, the guy who supplies them has been doing it for a very long time.
