Moved the turntable up to the top shelf. I forgot how much balls vinyl has. Yowzer

I don't partake in the weed no mo either.

This is the Thorens TD 160 spinning some vinyl. I put some Paul Butterfield on after I took the record that is on there off. Time to go dig the boxes of records out.

Sorry forum police. I know this has nothing to do with old English iron, and is a waste of bandwidth.
You share my tastes...Norton Commandos and vintage stereo.

I had over 1000 LP's before....kind of a hassle , I moved and had no way to keep them and ended up selling the lot of them for 340 bucks( I did keep a few... Commander Cody and his lost planet airman & Frank Marino and mahogany rush comes to mind) but anyway, now the guys at work make fun of me because I have my CD collection here in the Hangar shop and they say that is sooo old school..... sorry to go so far off track...... good luck with the rebuild hopefully the crank measures good. p.s. I am jealous of the space where your engines are though. :)

Nice derailment, but back to Jeltz's junkpile. Head's got sloppy guides, 10 thou or near enough and the exhaust seats in particular don't look so good. Looks like an oversize seat on the right intake. And then there's the crank. Ground once, best I can measure up is 1.740 and no tenths. By the book I'd expect 1.7409/1.7404 for 10 under. I'd be a lot happier if I could find a few more tenths.

Pictures, or it didn't actually happen. Long story short, it's back together with a 060 bore, 2S Combat cam but still sporting a RH1 head with about 10 thou cut down and no cylinder base gasket. Blanked off the timed breather on the end of the camshaft and added a reed valve breather to the back of the timing chest. Just over 100 miles in with no issues other than the tooth fairy hasn't left Jeltz a pair of shiny new Aluminium Amals. Still sporting a single Mikuni VM34 but we're going to see about that...

In my experience, a single Mik (even a 36mm in my case) strangles performance above 5K rpm.

According to Comnoz and others, a 2S cam inhibits performance below 4.5K rpm.

So you currently got a 500 rpm power band dude!

Best get those Amal’s sorted ...

Hi F E. I agree. We don't need to re-invent the wheel. It was about the fastest production wheel when it first came on the market. We just need to improve some of the spokes etc on the original.
