sent them to Nisongers for cleaning and calibration. took 7 weeks - this virus thing didn't help matters as it took a while, but I've got to tell you, they look outstanding - brand spanking new. picture does not do it justice. in fact, almost too nice compared to the overall condition of the rest of the bike. when I sent them in, I added a note to add 200 miles to the odometer. I had a spare speedo that I used , so I could keep track of actual miles traveled during rebuild - turns out I rode 198.2 additional miles, so i'm well within the ballpark of what "appears" to be the actual mileage. overall, a bit pricey, but I figure money well spent.

waiting on rim liners for the new tires - when that's done, i'm about as far as I can go with the project - for the present that is....

Aside from their sometimes snotty attitude and slow turn-a-round, they do a first class job.
I'm thinking from a couple of years back that their cost is in the high $200s

I've heard from several folks about the "snotty" attitude, but to be honest, in the 2X I spoke with someone at their facility, I experienced nothing like that. my instruments were in decent condition, and I'm thinking I only needed cleaning and calibration. the chrome bezel was replaced as i'm thinking they can't be reused. anyway $2-bills each. probably could have saved a few bucks on the job by shopping around, but to be honest, wasn't sure who and where to send them. checked on a couple brit car sites on smiths instruments - same thing - they do a first class job.

Fast, friendly, beautiful work: https://vintagebritishcables.com/

Besides restoring Smiths instrument, they make speedo/tacho cables from most British bikes and they know the correct length for each.
They are also my go to for all Smith cables. Kind of nice to not worry about ruining good instruments with a bad cable.
I get my instruments done by a guy in Ohio. Have had 9 done and they come back perfect.

I've also used Nisonger a few times and have been thrilled with the results. As I recall from my last experience with them if you pay an extra "expedite" fee you can get them back in less than a week.
