Important fix your photobucket links

Go VIP. Else it's a real bummer. Half the posts in my bookmarks have broken image links. Useless.
 
as a dinosaur of technology I cant follow all of this, I recently failed to bring a photo over from PB so realise why now. does this all mean that any photos that we have posted from PB at any time will disappear at some point.
Are there any other sites or what do we do now to get pics onto the forum. Thanks.

Yes any pictures that you linked from PB will become that silly advert instead. probably already have done.

There are alternatives but who knows how long they will remain free?

I'm using Post Image https://postimages.org
You can use it without an account but if you create an account you'll be able to keep track of what pictures you've put on there.

I am a huge fan of this site and have relied on it heavily for assistance in the restoration of my bike.

The photos within the site are integral to its overall content and information and the PB ambush really screwed up a huge portion of very valuable information.

This is just my two cents worth but if posting or re-posting photos do not trust any outside service to handle your visual offerings or content....they will, sooner or later, screw it up again....

Yes, if you see something you like or may want to keep, you better do it immediately, or it may disappear. I've learned that much. Most of ludwig's stuff is long gone, unfortunately. But that doesn't help those that look through old posts.
 
Hi all,

Not happy with all this photo sharing nonsense. I joined photo bucket to share some images and that's gone kaput and I ponied up for VIP and still can't seem to upload images from my computer. What am I missing?

PS I stand corrected it looks as though I can upload from my computer. Is there a size limit?

You haven't actually used the VIP upload to do that. That's the 'Postimage' option.
 
is postimage available to us all, or just VIP. how much is VIP and what benefits are there, can photos be uploaded from our own collection. Thanks Neil

It should be, look for 'Add image to post' (in blue) at the bottom left of the reply box. Use the 800x600 size.
