I have new premiers 32mm. for my combat Commando. Before I put the carbs back on ,I want to check the pilot jet size. Its a screw in brass type with 2 rings out by the tip. I have no way to reference these and no idea where to find alternate sizing.

I live at high altitude (over 4500ft). Brian

It is a 17 which in most cases is too small. However, at 4500+ feet it might be ok. Try it and if the bike takes more than two kicks to get it going than the pilot size is suspect. I always use the three ring (19) but I'm at sea level.

Thanks. I'm not kicking her anymore, installed a CNW starter. At this elevation I wonder wether the 15 is indicated. Definitely leaner than when I lived at sea level.

Hi Brian,
Are your symptoms different from when you were at sea level?

How is everthing else?

Ted

Hi Ted,
All good here. Its apart for minor repairs. No oil in it presently. Stopped the leak. Changed the drive sprocket to 20T (from 21). Fixed the wonky new side stand (weld a stop gusset). Tab on the oil tank broke (weld a thicker gauge tab). I have an assortment of main jets on the way. Waiting for a CNW flat timing plate.

I'm using this chart: I thought maybe Amal would provide this in the box, but they don't.
