I need a new rear tyre

Ive always stayed with TT100 on the 74 Norton and my 73 Trident. They go for about 3k before
the centre wears out. You could run a lot further if you dont mind a smooth central strip!
Another reason I use them is that I can change the tyre myself using the stock little spoons
that come with the OEM tool kit.
So wear is my only complaint with them.

Not sure why you guys think it hard to fit an AM26 to a road steel rim?

I haven't had particular issues fitting them to flanged alloys rims or cast wheels, the steel rim is typically easier. I have a tyre changing stand, which is useful for stability, and bead breaking and some reasonably standard after market tyre levers/spoons. But if you need a lesson, watch Ken Inwood at UK race meetings. He is well into his 80s and really does make you wonder why you get in a sweat at times.

Best tire spoons I found. Work great on aluminum rims, no scratches or marks. I use a deep truck rim with a moving blanket over it to support the tire/rim and remove the rotor first.

+1 on the Stubby tire tools, and for years I've been using a 10 gal. metal trash can with rubber hose slit lengthwise placed around the top edge to protect the wheels. The 14" to 15" dia. of the top is perfect to fit motorcycle or bicycle wheels and is strong enough and a good height if you need to hold the wheel with your knee.

Always thought a tough plastic would be great for a spoon.
Looks like somebody ran one up.

Be aware that the 100/90 AM26 Road Rider does not fit the stock WM2 1.85" rim correctly profile wise, is not recommended by Avon, and will be visibly pinched if you mount one...
(and I do realize many have run one and lived to tell the tale)
