I am an addict. There, I said it. H2

Oh shizen
How quick did it happen
Did you get any warning?
Like someone hit the kill switch.

Experienced it several times on snowmobiles, and the RZ.

No warning.

You know that little voice in your in your head that says: "enough, back out of the throttle"🧠🗣️

I don't have one of those....😜🤣

The guy is 10 miles from me, had them all roughed out.
Just had to cut the chamber bowls.

I figured you pinned it and let it trip. As it should be ridden.
I'm no triple tuner, but I have read where some guys beef up the center jetting as it tends to run hotter.

Certainly my first reaction.
But, the new heads will make a big difference, the tight squish precluding detonation, AND, a far better heat dissipation path than stock.
The guy that makes the heads, and races triples claims no staggered jetting is required.
Also, I had avoided the EGT monitoring, but spirited riding demands it. 💸💸💸💸

Damn Bob, I was hoping it wasn’t that H-2 rebuild.
With a little luck maybe you can salvage most of the parts. I think the pistons will buff out.
You know that’s a 2-stoke, you have to mix the oil with the fuel right

Sorry, couldn’t resist
Not an oil related failure, all skirts look fine except where the melted crown jammed the rings.

It slurps a quart of Amsoil Dominator to every 8 gallons of fuel guzzled.

The machine shop that had done great work for me for 35 years has failed me.
A lot.

FOUR AND A HALF THOUSANDTHS taper.

Update...
The machinist graciously rebored them next day service, straight within .0002", no charge.

I made it clear I was not there to argue, blame or freeload.

The no-charge was a surprise, he made me put the wallet back in my pocket. 😎🏁🤝🏻

An engine TRANSFORMED!!
So crisp, pulls much better 3-6,000
Light throttle cruise is mostly surge-FREE!
Concours, I didn't watch the video, but found this.https://www.msn.com/en-us/video/webcontent/web-content/vi-xZ8BNo9T1ECQww?vid=oLZyKZtNc7o&provider=yt&ocid=msedgntp&pc=U531&cvid=370a9f1a1fb44544b8490533b5d432ac&ei=99

Well done.
Was looking at a 72 with chambers around 1979. $750.00. :eek::eek:
Test ride. Besides the bogg and rush, it surged on the freeway.
Didn't care for it and passed...

The OEM timing setting of 23 degrees (3.13mm) BTDC is now changed to 18 degrees (2mm) BTDC to compliment the improved combustion speed.
All three cylinders individually confirmed with the strobe at 4,000 rpm.
