How to tighten the oil pump shaft lock nut?

I cant find any past threads with a mention of soft oil pump gears. Can you please help me find them?

The gear on my old pump is ok. I could pull it all apart and swap the old gear onto the new pump. But I'd like to understand if that's necessary. It's all back together now.

A thread I started 2017, look at Comnoz' inputs re hardness of worm gear and pump gear.

The gears are on the bench now and both are worn, I have a couple of NOS worms, but can only find new pump gears.
 
Thanks for the heads up. I emailed AN asking if they were aware and if they had addressed the issue.

As mentioned, with a dog inserted to stop slippage. Works splendid.
