Hemmings Isolastic Adjuster

I had this same problem on my own bike years ago. I used some .023" safety-wire, wrapped from the grub screw, twisted, and tied to a point on the bike (battery tray tab), and it stopped the screw from backing out and holds the vernier from rotating. Still there 20 years later.

Kenny,
When you use this method are you still using the rubber boot?
Thanks,
Mike

Does anybody know where you can source the Hemmings style nylon tipped set screws?
Last time I bought them (years ago) it was from Mick.

Got 5 via amazon.ca from China. Took 3 wks, cost $20 plus another $15 shipping. now I see them on ebay.ca much cheaper:

Yes, Mike. I might have cut the boots back as they don’t look stock.

Hi Mike,

I cut back the stock boot to to have access to the adjustor - I played with the clearances for a while and found what I felt was a happy medium of handling and smoothness - and I believe that was about .015".
Attached are snaps I took today. I've been riding it quite a bit lately and was quickly reminded why I love Nortons so much.

Kenny,
Thanks again for your reply.Would it do any harm to put in an extra grub screw?

Unfortunately McMasterCarr will not ship outside USA, last I enquired. So us folk in Great White North must use a US mail box setup and do a cross border jaunt to collect. Something that was near impossible for two years.
