Hells Angels Euro Run: Thirty-four arrested at anniversary event

A few years ago we had a biker gang turf war in Quebec some innocent people , couple Judges and at least one child lost their lives in collateral damage .... kinda glad the Law is working to control the spread of these gangs ... what I don’t understand is some normal? law abiding riders wearing similar looking patches and paraphernalia associated with gangs , doing bikes up to look like bad bikes and riding in groups .. what up with that ?

Broke the law several times on the bike and stopped, however strange it seems always been 'advised' and let on my way. One cop who stopped me on the bike also stopped me in the car for speeding - instant 3 points. So despite motorcycles getting stopped, it is not really an issue.
As for the Hells Angels, I don't bother them and they don't bother me, rarely see them these days. Last big thing I remember was the shoot out in Ivy Wood in the New Forest, and that was between rival chapters. The babysitters brother was arrested, but what I can vaguely remember no one was actually charged with anything serious.
The police have targeted them as easy pickings, which is a sham as the Police know the Pikies reputation and it seems the UK police feel that they can't search them or their vans under special orders- shows just what a weak police force we have here in the UK.

In the last year I've passed three cops who were all doing the speed limit or better. Two in the US and one in Canada. The US cops left me alone. So much for US cops targetting Canadian plates!
The Canadian cop pulled me over a gave me a lecture, no ticket. I was going quite a bit over, maybe about 100 km /hr in a 60/ km hr zone. But in my defence he cut me off, which really irritated me so I gave it full bore second gear going by, lots of anti-social noise. Of course I didn't know any of them were cops until half way thru the passes.
I have also had a couple of tickets from speed traps and they were well earned!
It probably helps to be an old guy on an old bike, but I really can't complain about cops.
I don't think I even saw any in the UK and had plenty of fun there on the B roads.

If you're a patched 1%'er you're part of a criminal enterprise, full stop, whether or not you commit any crimes yourself. The local HAs will sometimes drop by our club events, and some of them are just 9-5 joes, but they don't kid themselves about the club's activities. The amount of crap they've got their fingers into is insane (human trafficking, drugs, gun smuggling, insurance fraud etc.) The US has them under RICO, so wearing a patch in public pretty much makes you fair game for arbitrary stop/search. In Canada we have the unfortunate title of "world's bloodiest biker gang territory", especially in Quebec where hundreds have been killed since the 70's in turf wars between the big 3 (including a bicycle riding 10 year old who got blown up by a car bomb). Cops here take a no apologies approach to them as well, routine to see club houses and legitimate business assets seized and sold off.

The coppers in this story are targeting criminals, not motorcyclists

The HA are well known to the British police for running orderly events such as the Kent Custom show. Almost certainly a drive out from most football matches would produce a similar or higher amount of personal possession and weaponry. So why the interest? County Lines for instance is a serious problem for trafficking ,is this now so under control the police can spare time effort and manpower to bust macho fantasy seeking idiots?

A total of 12 people - five German nationals, three Hungarians, one Swiss, one French, one Czech and a Greek - were charged.

The arrests were made on suspicion of drugs offences and possession of offensive weapons.

Earlier this week, Surrey and Sussex police were granted powers to stop and search people within a designated area across the two counties in a bid to tackle anti-social behaviour.

So riding a bike and wearing a patch is now considered anti social, how long before the patch isn't necessary?
It isn't, just check out the latest German proposed legislation regarding noise limits and when you ride your bike.
