i picked up this AMC gearbox casing as part of a deal and I was wondering what model bike it came off? The Quandrant boss is very short. Unfortunately, the numbers have been ground off (I think it led a nefarious past life) so no help there. Final question is can I use it to build an 850 gearbox.

Thanks. Since I’m building a MKII is this casing is unsuitable or do,I just need a MK3 quadrant?

the pre MK3 quadrant roller is replaced with a spherical roller on the MK3. You could probably use the MK3 quadrant as long as you used the spherical roller with it, just forgot off hand what they call that bit
Come to think of it you can probably use the Pre Mk3 roller

The Mk3 quadrant, washer and circlip also a blanking plug for the neutral switch hole. The pre-Mk3 quadrant roller can be used.
