G'day all. I have recently come into possesion of a majestic Norton - parentage uncertain. Believed to be a '72 however can't be sure ? Due to circumstances she has sat in a shed for a fair while however after reading through many of the posts (up to page 46 now !) on the site I have overcome the wet sump and Amal tuning issues and have her running quite well. She joins the '74 RV125 Suzuki, '78 FLH, '78 MKII Le Mans, '85 XLS, '00 PW80, '01 Bonnie and '05 FXSTS in the shed. I am the current custodian of a little bit of history and hope to leave it in at least as good condition as I have found it. Hopefully a picture attached ( :? ) although I am a bit of a technophobe. Happy to hear from anyone who may be able to identify her. Cheers, Philthy (South West of Western Australia - God's own country !)

Philthy,
Disc brake front, polished clock holders and small taillight indicates a '72. Is that the breather hose I see running down the left side from the end of the cam? If so, then this is a non-Combat version. If the breather is from the base of the crankcase at the rear and the cylinder head is stamped with a "C" above the exhaust rocker boxes (or perhaps in the "V" between the exhaust rockers, then you have the high compression Combat engine.

Engine number for a '72 should be 20XXXX or possibly 21XXXX. Other than the late style seat cover, non-black frame and missing grab rail and fender stay, it looks very original. I think you've got a good'un!!

Welcome to the forum!

Cheers Ron - will check the detail and let you know. Appreciate the assistance !
Philthy
