Front suspension question

I went to rebuild the front suspension on basket case I bought and my question is what was the stock length for the Stanchion on an 74’ 850? When I took it apart well just look at the picture. Pretty sure that is not factory and the metal tube you see below was above the spring.

Thank you gortnipper I was just looking at Andover Norton site and seen the length of replacements. I’m glad they sell all the parts. That welded together fork damper rod seems really sketchy. Anyone interested in making their front forks 27” long? haha just kidding I would feel comfortable passing on that welded damper rod
