Hi Gadge
I used a PR type short cable without a switch.
At the front I used a second gold coloured U shape connecter sawn off to be a "J" section and leave the hole to use as the location of the spring. The "J" shape was fitted on the same pin (longer?) as is the full U shape gold cable end. This allows a self "levelling" joining for the spring and associated switch.
I used a side panel bracket 06 1204 in stainless and located it on one of the nuts on the exhaust mounting plates. The end hole needs to be drilled larger. Again this allows for up and down adjustment of the pin.
I removed the horrible mounting bracket off the end of the plastic switch and drilled it larger to fit the pin on the bracket. Again big enough to allow swivel. I drilled a small hole in the pin to fit a split pin and washer (stainless of course!) to locate the hole in the end of the switch onto the pin.
In summary;
The J piece fits together with the gold U piece on the pin for the brake cable of the rear sets
The spring locates in the hole in the end of the J piece
The hole in the end of the plastic switch fits on the pin on the side panel bracket
The side panel bracket fits on the exhaust mounting plates
Unbelivelbly all fits as if made for each other in a straight horizontal line with "wobble" to allow fine adjustment.
And eliminates a switch in the cable to improve the brake action.
A neat bodge !
I hope this helps
