We eat a lot 0f venison, I like it. You can get it in most NZ supermarkets.

I haven't had buffalo since I moved here almost 20 years ago. Nor elk, or bear.

My apples.

I just moved an hour out of town and inherited a garden. My biggest task will be harvesting rain water and irrigation for the summer.

But no deer, bears or anything bigger than a rabbit or birds here.
What a wonderful inheritance, much better than a basket case any day.

This is a few shots of my small backyard garden, the first pic is the shed and the passionfruit vine that covers the front, the 2nd and 4th pic is the same garden bed but in the 4th pic is where the passionfruit vine starts, its starting to slow for winter but its still producing passionfruit, as for the garden bed it has a Hawian Grava tree, fig tree, sweet potato, tomato bushes and a few other things.
The 3rd pic is my home made compost in a old bath tub and a few plant boxes with things growing in Garlic, Avacado, in the back ground in the garden bed another fig tree, Paw Paw tree, lemon tree, the 5th pic is my herbs garden and the last pic is a small garden in front of my back house door with flowers, chilly, herbs, a lime tree and tomato plant.
Got some Dragon fruit cuttings so now have to find a place to grow Dragon fruit.

Must be a good place for free venison.
Deer hate chicken wire. Their small cloven hoofs get stuck in the stuff. I spread it around loose in the shrubbery garden to keep them out of the Azaleas which they love in the winter. And if they do get near the garden, I just step out with the 1899 Savage 300 and shoot them in the head like I did last Christmas. Then I called Philippe, the garden keeper, and he comes over and gets it. I hates deer meat but I've got no problem shooting them in the head. My vegs are all on the deck, about 20' above the ground with no steps. Too many wild animals around here to supply them too.

Does the plastic hootie owl have any effect?

Ashley, those red healers are so strong and smart you could probably teach them to start the Norton

Have own Aussie cattle dog all my life, they are very smart, loyal, will stick to you like glue, will keep going till they drop and very protective, I now have two female cattle dogs, one red, one blue (mother and daughter), my blue dog hates me going out on the bike and will attack the exhaust pipe when fired up, but don't do it when I come home.

Cool to see riders who grow too. 1972 combat, 2001 ST2 owner here.
at over 1000 meters above sea level, I gotta nice little greenhouse here; with 1 meter annual rainfall, both riding and outdoor gardening can be limited.
out in the rain I am having mixed results with citrus, avocados, and arbequina olives.
All I need is some good weed!
