First ride of the season... What do you choose...?

Yesterday, finished service on the B40. Started second kick. Rode it from the workshop up in barn #1. Took down the RD250 racer to fix the locked rear brake.
When that was done, it had started to snow again.

Well, got my newly finished replica Egli Norton single running for the first time today in sunny UK: engine hasn’t run for at least 40 years, and now has a 500 cc Yam piston and ally barrel. However, after 3 to 4 mins, still no sign of oil return to tank. Even allowing for Commando oil filter, that seems a long time, so need some checks before it gets onto the road.... Still, very nice to have a lightish bike, and looks the part.

Harley street glide Sorry it was first inside door!!! Others as I work thru the line! 750 Norton street tracker next

Royal Enfield Himalayan.
Salt still on roads & without a liberal coating of ACF 50 you could pull up a chair, then sit and watch it bio-degrade.

That’s exactly what’s happened to my mates Interceptor, even with ACF 50 !

First ride of the season... What do you choose...?

First ride yesterday.
The Busa is sorned.
The Commando is waiting to be torn down for a bit of re-fettling with some added extras.
So I felt it was right and proper to fire up the ZZR1400 and take it out for an easy ride. Thankfully, the 6 month layoff since I last managed to get out hadn’t shrunk the leathers too far, still a bit on the tight side though. Far too much traffic around, plenty of bikes out too. It was like a summer’s holiday weekend. The local beaches were all packed with people. I doubt I covered more than 80 miles overall. But what a feeling! We all know how it feels to be out on the road. What a shame we have the Easter weekend coming up as the roads will be even worse - I’ll stay home.

Indeed!
I did about 170 miles yesterday and it was absolutely wonderful!

Afterwards it felt as if someone had taken a giant syringe sucked a sh*t load of crap out of my head!

Joking aside, it was a huge reminder for me as to just how important stuff like this is for our mental well being.

The boys break for Easter tomorrow so I'm off to the cabin. From the Yorkshire coast to the Yorkshire Dales over the North Yorkshire Moors, heaven ☺️. Strapped the leggings behind the seat just in case.

130 miles yesterday & 100 today up Weardale, bleak but wonderful scenery & none too cold. What a wonderful thing motorcycling is.

Today was first ride out for me , sunny and cool morning .... so took the Ducati ST3s (best weather protection) and had just a great ride over the mtn to the coast .... almost perfect ride day once past noon warming to 15C .... no salt residue , with most secondary roads I travelled in pristine condition for this time of year .... very little traffic and great lunch in small village cafe , travelled along coast before heading up and over Nuttby to home .... the start of another season of good times in future !

Suppose to hit 60 here. Time for the second ride of the season.
Inland warm along the coast it will be chilly.
No matter Ill dress for it.

Dragging the T140 out for a canter tomorrow. One of our lot has done a decent countryside route of “a brief 160/170 miles” that includes petrol station's en route with coffee facilities. How civilised!

There’ll be two modern Enfield interceptors and a Japanese bike (that I always forget the details of) in the troupe, so I hope I can trust the Trusty Triumph remains Trusty !

Well I did my ride last weekend with the mates, now Easter long weekend I will be staying off the roads, everyone getting away for the four days, traffic up and down the coast, cops out in force and double points for any infrigments, no thanks I wait till next week to get out and about on the bike, seems everyone goes a bit crazy on the roads when there is a four day weekend, do some maintenance on the Norton, the 1200 Thruxton has clocked up for its major service so will do that as well and the Land Rover needs a oil change, think I won't even have time to get out on the bikes, except for warming up the oil for the oil changes.

They telling us to stay and limit groups to local family only ...

"double points for any infrigments,"
I understand what you wrote, but why? How?

It tends to be the Indian as it is at the front of the garage, plus it has a connector for my heated vest which has been nice for the colder days we have had.

Last year was the Duc. Next year prolly the C'do as it will have a winter refresh after the recent crash.
