Finned points cover

Unclviny,

I've got a number of standard fair after market items I'll don't
want any more. Among them is polished 3 set of thick finned
cast covers. Don't know if they are Dunstall type.
Ping if interested, just clutter now.

I just bought a set of valve covers on ebay the other day, you should be able to sell them easy enough.
I think we might be close, I live in Houston, Texas but I work in north Louisiana (30 miles south of Shreveport right now, it changes regularly).

Guessing Dunstall. Any markings on the inside? I have a set on my bike with a matching points cover that look very close if not exactly like the ones you have pictured. I have been told by a very reliable source that mine are Dunstall...which makes sense as the previous owner in the 70's changed a number of stock parts to Dunstall parts.

I have been told that Webco also made finned covers and are very similar to the Dunstall parts.

Sir Ed's fine finish fined finery/ Must be early finish as mine
have dull black applied in the hollows that highlights the fins.
Dunstal type is view to compare with.

Hi Gents,

I am enquiring to see if there was any update to the posibility that they are still making the finned covers for purchase. Are there any confirmed leads or contact details as I would like to follow up.

Any information would be appreciated.

Sir Eddie may have another batch of his machined fin set and I still got the thicker cast 'Dunstall' style to be rid of. Try Walridge they often can source stuff form overseas vendors. Might also try Unity Spared.

These where everywhere in the 70s and 80s - made by Wassel in UK. Got a NOS set waiting for my next rebuild.

I'm glad someone can afford these items. I'm also glad someone can polish the whole head. A little too much bling for me.

Yes polished head is bad juju thermally to be run at much power as the mirror finish also reflects invisible IR radiation photons back as well as reduce surface interaction with cooling air flow. Rough and turbulent surface best. Must just be showing off his sales display. Eddie may not be here next decade, we likely may and for sure our bikes, so plug that into the cost vs time benefits.
