Factory color and model

Is there a resource to determine how my 1970 Commando 750 number 136XXX what color / model my bike left the factory as.....I suspect it is a Roadster....color unknown...

Andover despatch records for my Mk3 gave nothing (model/spec or colour) apart from dates for: 'Tested And Accepted', 'Packed' and 'Despatched'.....

Best £20 I ever spent :-(
 
I have a copy of some of the records. Details appear to depend on the year. The date of despatch and name and location of the dealership is consistently included. I learned that my 1968 (about the 650th made) was shipped to British Motorcycles in Vancouver, Canada. And my 1972 was shipped as a roadster to V. Horsman in Liverpool.

In August 74 the only details recorded for my bike was model and date off assembly line and dispatched. Nothing about name and location of dealership, colour or anything else.

But I know mine came straight to Wellington NZ from the NZ registration documents.

The earlier records seem to be the most informative. From '72 onwards it seems to go a bit sketchy, with large gaps :confused:

I bought my first bike a Kawasaki KH250 from Victor Horsman in Liverpool. I used to drool over the T160s and Z900s and wonder how anyone could afford one. It was a good dealership, sadly not around any more.
 
The only thing I learned from NOC records that I didn't know before, was the dispatch date.
This, despite my 62 build Atlas being a special build, as indicated by the fact it has squirt holes in the big ends and a 6 start oil pump, which did not become standard fare until 1966.

I suspect it was a "Beta" model for Berlinas evaluation, since they had it for nearly a year before releasing it to my local dealer, which is why it became titled as a '63.

Thnx All...my Norton left Andover may 13 1970 for Long Beach. I bought it at a small auction in South Carolina with an Alaska plate from 2000. Must have belonged to a military guy.
