Facebook Fodder

Seems some of the bloggers are actually supported by Norton themselves as they show the same links on their website. Also noticed that the 961 and a 500? will be released for sale in India this year according to several automotive sites there.

Wouldn't have expected the release of the 961 in India to be honest, although as you say Mn there are Indian articles detailing this as occurring later in 2024. Some of those articles also detail a 500cc model (showing a picture of the Atlas), the V4 and the Dominator!? One also mentions the 961 being assembled in India in the future. So who knows what’s wheat and what’s chaff! I suspect mainly the latter but who knows.

I think we’d all expect TVS to produce and badge smaller capacity Norton machines for their markets and others like it - there’s a reason they only produce small capacity machines currently I suppose. The ‘prestige’ bikes manufactured in Solihull for domestic and western markets? No doubt there’ll be some crossover though.

Interesting times ahead regardless, whichever way it pans out.

Papa Smurfs latest VLOG on Norton 961 used bike prices. Worth a look if you’re UK based and certainly if you are looking to pick one up. UK prices are gonna shift I guess, depending on how many Solihull eventually produce.

The outcomes overseas will be quite different I guess. In Aus for example, limited numbers were imported and with zero likelihood of exported Solihull 961’s, that will obviously reduce opportunity to own a 961 in the future. I see most of these bikes eventually resting with an owner that sees it as a keeper, if that’s not the case already. Likely to make them hens teeth IMO.

I’m guessing this comes under the ‘fodder’ banner🤣!

Old vid - some will have seen it but some not. I’m no SG/SS fan (who is?), but I thank them both for this truly magnificent machine! The most aggressive, purposeful Norton ever built? That’s a big yes in my opinion! It literally ‘flips the bird’ 🖕 to modern sports bikes and rudimentary retros alike. Ya gotta love that if you’re a Norton enthusiast!

The fact that this growler exists at all in today’s regulatory environment is as remarkable as the sound it emits. If I could have any bike available in my garage, I would choose this! As they say in France, it’s the dogs bollox mate!

Watch to the very end - does he drop it?!!

Latest from Papa Smurf. Nothing new here for us but good to see that he’s getting the word out. He’s a bit short of the mark with Donington 961 spares though.
